Aug 15: Myanmar`s military rulers slash fuel subsidies,
sending prices rising by as much as
five fold.
Buses immediately double their fares.
Aug 19: Hundreds of people, led by former student
activists, march in Rangoon against the
price hike.
Aug 21: Min Ko Naing, Nation`s top democracy leader after Aung San Su Kyi ,
is arrested along with six other activists. At least 150 people are arrested in
the following days.
Aug 28: Hundred of Buddhist Monks stage their first march in
western Oil Town of Sittwe ( Akyab ).
Sept 5: Soldiers fire warning shots and pro-junta beats
protesting monks.
Sept 6: Monks in Pakokku hold 20 Government Officers hostage
in anger over the beating.
Sept 18: Thousands of monks march in Rangoon and other
towns.
Sept 21: About 3,000 people march through Rangoon in the
biggest protest . Su kyi is sent to jail.
Sept 22: Guards allow 2,000 people to pray outside Su kyi`s
home, who came out to greet them.
Sept 23: 400 people led by monks ( 150-200) have been turned
back at two different approaches

Oil City of Western Myanmar ( Arakan State) Rangoon, Mandalay, Banmour and

on Monday ten of thousand of people Joined streams of Buddhist Monks on march
through the Capital in the biggest demonstration against the ruling Generals
since they crushed student-led protest in 1988.
Sept 25: 10,000 monks march through the heart of Myanmar
main city on Tuesday in defiance of a threat by the ruling Generals to send
troops to end the biggest anti-junta protests in nearly 20 years.
Sept 26: At least five persons ( protesters ) including 3
monks, were killed in Rangoon. (One monk was killed on the spot while two
others were beaten to death , It is more death than estimation )
Sept 27: Anti-junta protests continue in Rangoon and
Mandalay including Sittwe and Rambree.
Sept 28: Internet Access cut as satellite images show
villages destroyed. In Rangoon , up to 10,000 demonstrators surge on the
streets, playing deadly game of cat-and-mouse as they confront polices and
soldiers.
Sept 29: Mr.Ibrahim Gambari flies into Rangoon via Singapure
and Sittwe and Taunkoug people and monks
march through the city.
Sept 30: Inbrahim Gambari meets Su Kyi in Rangoon after he
earlier held talk with Junta Leaders , Thein Sein and others ,and then went up
to Nayphytaw to meet Than Shew.
Oct 1: Ibrahim Gambari was stalled and made to see
pro-Government rally.
Oct 2: Gambari meets Than Shew and returns to Singapure.
