Myanmar Army had
declared unilateral ceasefire in all of ethnic regions except in the lost Arakan
to Myanmar ( western Myanmar) particularly to launch military operation against
the Arakan Army for just four months. However, Myanmar Army broke its unilateral
ceasefire in northern Shan State by attacking to Kachin Independence Army, a
few days ago, when it was unable to crush Arakan Army and it did not want forthcoming
meeting between the Kachin Independence Army and PCG of Myanmar Government. The
meeting is known to make bilateral agreement between the KIA and Myanmar or
Burma. Arakan Army is also expected to attend it.
In northern
Shan State’s Muse Distrait, Light Infantry Division 99 of Myanmar Army started to seize a
village of Howa and attacked battalion No. 36 of Kachin Independence Army.
Myanmar Army’s
offensive attacks took place in the last week of a four-month unilateral
ceasefire declared by Myanmar Army in December 2018.
Meanwhile,
Myanmar Army’s offensive attacks against the Arakan Army is also badly going on in Arakan.
Due to Myanmar Army’s shelling and bombing on villages in northern Arakan,
there are, right
now, over 35000 Internally Displaced Persons across the five townships in which a curfew was
imposed by Myanmar Government controlled by Myanmar Army to colonize Arakan continually
one way and another.
Since April
19, 2019, Myanmar Army launched artillery fire on the villages again , accusing
every Arakanese villager and civilian as member of Arakan Army. Poor villagers
were just to flee from their villages to nearby places with just only clothes
on their bodies. No local aid group is allowed to help humanitarian and relief
aid to IDPs. It is pain from very bottom of heart that we, Arakan, feel never before in
history after our nation was occupied by Myanmar or Burma.
